Eco-Cafe Discussion – Food Security: Keeping It Close to Home

The goal of the Eco Café is to provide a venue for students, faculty, staff and community members to discuss various social, economic and environmental issues of importance to our region.

Food security is when "all people at all times have access to sufficient, safe, nutritious food to maintain a healthy and active life." This panel discussion will be lead by David Holbern, Professor and Associate Director of Nutrition, School of Applied Health Sciences.

Panelists are: Ronda Clark, Executive Director, Community Food Initiative; Leslie Schaller, Director of Programming, Appalachian Center for Economic Networks (ACENet); Tom Redfern, Coordinator, Rural Action Sustainable Agriculture; Natalie Woodroofe, Project Coordinator, 30 Mile Meal.
