Can a Rural Community Regain Its Food Roots?

Join us on the first Friday of each month for a breakfast of locally produced foods and speakers from the university and surrounding communities. Exchange ideas and network with your College of Agriculture colleagues, local producers, and advocates for enduring agriculture and food systems. This event features speaker Claire McGowan, executive director of New Pioneers for a Sustainable Future, a community non-profit organization in Washington County, KY created to promote sustainable thinking and sustainable development. The organization’s goal in 2010 was to strengthen their local economy and improve community health by promoting a local food and crafts culture.

When: Friday, April 1; 8:00am-9:00am

Location: E.S. Good Barn, University of Kentucky
