West Virginia Farm-to-School Conference (Bridgeport, WV)

Farm to School  connects schools (K-12) and local farms with the objectives of serving healthy meals in school cafeterias, improving student nutrition, providing agriculture, health and nutrition education opportunities, and supporting local and regional farmers. This growing national movement is now taking root in West Virginia. On September 27-28, 2011, join the Center for Economic Options, WesMonty and Potomac Headwaters RC&D, WV Department of Education's Office of Child Nutrition, and others to explore issues and opportunities related to farm to school initiatives. Discussion topics will include purchasing, food safety, food preparation, pricing, supply and production/availability.
