Kentucky Habitat for Humanity invites you to attend the 2011 Affordable Green Housing Summit: Beginning with the End in Mind, June 13-14 in Lexington. Students can register for $25, including meals!
This conference brings together local Habitat for Humanity and other non-profit executive directors, construction mangers, and volunteers, economic development entities, policy-makers, utilities, energy raters, architects, engineers, HVAC contractors, students, educators and concerned citizens to work together on forging a path for affordable housing in Kentucky within a context of Kentucky’s sustainable energy future. A rich agenda with over 30 speakers, local visionaries and regional experts includes topics that will be of particular interest to forward-thinking students, educators and citizens, including: Passive House and net zero energy projects being built in Kentucky, setting energy targets, innovative financing for energy efficiency projects, sustainable communities and the concept of "co-housing", durable beauty, green partnerships, Kentucky's energy landscape, cash flow analysis, ENERGY STAR v. 3, green building programs for homes, high-efficiency residential mechanical systems, building diagnostic tools, and building science principles, among others.
A dinner and VENDOR FAIR at the Barrel House will take place the evening of June 13 and is included in registration. Please consider being a part of this ambitious and varied group of practitioners.
