Holler in the Holler Music and Arts Festival (near Berea, KY)

Holler in the Holler!

August 19-21, 2011

Dubbed "the best micro-fest in Ky," this annual music and arts festival takes place on a 100 acre forest-farm in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains. This year, we've got 20 performances scheduled including everything from folk and jazz to bluegrass and southern rock, plus dance performances from Rakadu Gypsy Dance, Deadly Sins Burlesque, and Amalgamation Fire Nation. In addition to all the great music and dance, there will be hula hooping, henna, yoga, nightly bonfires, local food and artisan booths, grassroots tables, activities, workshops, and demonstrations throughout the weekend. This is one not to be missed!!

HomeGrown HideAways features a covered pavilion with stage; bath house with solar heated showers, flush toilets, and sinks; nearby reservoir for fishing & swimming; plus a limited number of RV hook-ups with electric & water (sorry, no dump station). HomeGrown HideAways cares about the environment. All electricity for our campground and events is provided through BlueGrass Energy's EnviroWatts program. Recycling and Food Waste bins are provided, but please plan to take your trash with you since we do not have garbage service at our farm. Help us keep the farm beautiful and remind your friends and family to put materials in their appropriate containers – no ifs, ands, or (cigarette) butts!!

*First and Foremost: NO PETS! NO PETS! NOT PETS! You WILL be turned away at the gate unless you have certification that your pet is a service animal. There is an excellent kennel just 8 miles from our farm if you need a place to take your pet while at our festival. Visit Jim at www.durhamkennels.com.
*Due to liability issues, this year we are requesting NO GLASS. Aluminum and Plastic are fine and we have recycling bins throughout the farm, but plan to take your trash with you since we don't have trash service. Pack it in, Pack it out. Cigarette butts are trash, too.
*Cell phone service is limited to non-existent. Occasionally folks are able to catch a signal, but don't count on it. There is also no internet access (yup, we're still stuck with dial-up).
*We do not permit individual fires. You may join us at the big bonfire or bring a camp stove to cook on, but unauthorized fires could get you thrown out of the festival.
* Hopefully this goes without saying, but weapons, illegal substances, fireworks, ATVs, etc. are not permitted. We reserve the right to remove anyone from our property at any time.

Feel free to come equipped with your own food and beverages (PLEASE, NO GLASS!!), but we strongly encourage folks to stop by for a meal from the Red Lick Volunteer Fire Dept. All proceeds from your purchase help support the department and since they are buying food from local farmers, your dollars go even farther to help the community!
